Description
This 1988 Colt Single Action Army is a rare Black Powder Style configuration in the desirable and increasingly hard-to-find .44-40 WCF chambering. Featuring a 5 1/2-inch barrel, factory nickel finish, and smooth grips, this Third Generation revolver offers classic frontier styling with the updated durability of modern manufacture.
It is in excellent overall condition, retaining 99% of its original finish with only minimal handling evidence. The smooth grips offer a traditional look and comfortable feel. Mechanically, the revolver is excellent and functions as expected. Included is the original factory box, showing moderate wear but structurally sound—an important addition for collectors.
Black Powder Style SAAs were produced with a frame profile reminiscent of the earliest Colt percussion models, making this an attractive option for those who appreciate traditional aesthetics with modern reliability. The scarcity of .44-40 in this configuration adds even more collector appeal.
